BAK-4 Binoculars Kit

I just had a chance to properly test these binoculars over the weekend. They're a good value for the price and come with a bunch of accessories, including a harness, tripod, and phone adapter. The binoculars themselves are well-made and feel sturdy. The image quality is excellent and the binoculars are very easy to use. I've been using them for bird watching around the River Dee estuary and they've been good - I could easily see birds that were far away and the image was very clear. Overall, I'm happy with the optics and the sturdy construction of these binoculars. However, I haven't had a chance to try how they work with my phone - once I do, I'll then update my review with new observations. But overall, they're a great option for bird watchers, nature enthusiasts and for anyone else who just wants a high-quality pair of binoculars at a very reasonable price.

My son was so happy to receive these binoculars. They are easy for him to use and adjust and give realyl clear images. The ability to take photos is more limited. It takes quite a lot of time to get the set-up right, and most of the time I have half a photo or a blurred image as I struggle to get the phone and the binoculars boths focussed correctly.
It comes with a stand which I have left on as it was a but faffy to attach. Its quite lightweight and easy to use this as a small handheld pole or ignore it completely whilst using them normally.
The bag has a backstrap that goes over your shoulders, joins in a 4 way cross on your back and then clips around back to the bag near your waist. This is comfy to wear but doesnt have any flexibility to use as eg a shoulder bag. There are also two small then straps which can clip onto the main straps to make sure you dont loose eg the eye covers but the way they connect to the covers themselves isnt actually that secure.

Very good, powerful binoculars that are perfect for bird watching and sporting events.

There’s no case, you get a nice chest pack with harness instead, as well as a small, but useful, tripod to hold them steady. This is essential if you intend taking photographs, for instance.

Lightweight, good quality, and excellent performance.

Also comes with a couple of other accessories which you would expect to find with this type of product.

There is a lot to like about these binoculars. They come with a lovely storage/carry bag, they feel good quality and there is a nice accessory bundle included, such as a cradle for connecting your mobile. Compared to my old binoculars they are so much clearer, the quality of the image is far superior... However that's when I can see through them! Unfortunately for me I find them too small/narrow and they don't extend wide enough...and I don't consider my eyes to be that far apart or anything like that. I just dont find them comfortable to use compared to my old pair. I also find setting up the mobile phone cradle a pain, requires some patience to get it in position. It's a pity as they seem really good, just not quite right for me.

These Bins have excellent magnification
They are very light weight, much lighter than my old Russian binoculars
The lenses give a crisp image.
I can focus in on trees a good distance away.
There is a construction crane about a half mile from our house and I can read the writing on it easily using these.
Trees about 80 feet away show up close and clear and I could see a fly flitting around the cherry buds .

They have separate adjustment for each eye to compensate if you use glasses and the right eye has a more dedicated focus .
There is the main focus knob in centre, easily operated.

The eye ends dont have moulded shapes, they are smooth so that you can connect one to a phone using the adapter and the plastic tripod.
The bins connect to the tripod using a second adapter , by removing the front knob and screwing in the adapter knob.
The Tripod has a ball and socket joint to allow positioning so you can for example, set them to look at a specific thing eg a birds nest

This allows for photographing the view seen through one lens via a mobile phone camera.
You need it to be a phone without an accessory fixed to the back.
You can line up the lens hole with the camera lens using a slider and knob.

There is plenty of adjustment to get the view optimised.

Along with the bins and tripod, there is a small lens cleaning cloth, a binocular bag with straps and a separate binocular strap.
One pocket of the bag has another cloth for cleaning which is tethered to the bag so you dont get it dirty and end up cleaning with grit on it.

Everything about this binocular set feels well made and of great quality.

If you are a bird or animal watcher , these are just the thing.
The price of just under £45 at time of review is excellent.

Would make an absolutely fabulous gift for a keen naturalist
